"Ring Tutor walked me through the complex task of choosing the right diamond over the internet, and got me the best stone possible on my budget." - John T. (California)

It’s fast. It’s simple. When you use our personal shopper, you just tell us a few basic requirements for the ring— shape, price range, priorities, etc.—and we’ll do the rest.

Don’t worry. You’re not locked into buying a ring. Our Graduate Gemologists will scour the web to show you 3 diamond rings that match your request. This isn’t some automated query. This is a real, live, expert Graduate Gemologist who will personally read your request and do the research.  If they have any questions, they’ll contact you directly.

Here’s an example.  Below, you’ll see what the customer requested, and then the response that he received. This is an actual customer.

The entire process takes less than 24 hours. For more information click here.

Dear xxxx:

In accordance with your wishes I have surveyed the online diamond market. After careful consideration I am happy to recommend the following diamond as your top pick:

http://www.bluenile.com/round-diamond-1-carat-or-less-very-good-cut-j-color-si1-clarity_LDxxxxxxxxx

This is our first choice. I would not recommend below J color as you will start to see yellow.

I would not recommend below SI1 clarity as there is a chance you will have a durability issue or perhaps see the inclusion without magnification.

The very good cut grade for this diamond assures you that the diamond will have tremendous sparkle.

I know you wanted 1 Ct, but it is impossible with these color/clarity grades to stay within your price range. This .93 Ct has an average diameter of 6.20 mm and a 1Ct has an average diameter of 6.5mm. You will never see the .3mm difference.

Other alternatives are:

Second choice.

Same explanation as above. Very similar diamond. However, this plot shows some inclusions on the center of the diamond. There is a slight chance you may see them without magnification. Although Bluenile has excellent return policy so you could view and decide.

Since you asked for a 1 Ct I would like to show you the trade off. This diamond has a lower clarity grade of Si2, however all the other specs are the same as the first two diamonds I recommended. The plot sheet displays an inclusion in the center of diamond that is most likely visible without magnification. In addition this 1 Ct. has an average  diameter of 6.49, very close to the diameter of the .93 diamond. The size difference is indistinguishable. If you MUST have a 1 Ct. this is a great buy, but you want to make sure you can return it if the table inclusion bothers you. I still prefer the first diamond.

The site I am suggesting, Bluenile, has a very simple, nice site where you can build your own ring, as you requested.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you any further questions.

Thank you,

Hillary Spector

Comments: If you can shop online stores that also create rings that would be helpful to me. Also if you find good stones that are close to 1 carat those are fine as well.
